(PSCFL) is a peer-run nonprofit organization and a statewide network of peers, peer specialists, family members and friends of peers, and community partners who are dedicated to advancing peer support in Florida and nationally through peer specialist workforce development, promoting the full integration of peer and recovery-oriented services, developing formal and informal pillars of recovery support and collaborating for social and systems transformation.
Job Summary This position is full-time, 40 hours a week.
The Medical Professional Mental Health Awareness Training (MPMHAT) Project Coordinator is responsible for managing the coordination and execution of PSCFL's Mental Health Awareness Training grant.
The ideal candidate is a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certified facilitator (or practitioner interested in becoming certified), creative, energetic, detail-oriented, and has critical thinking skills.
The Project Coordinator must be flexible and self-motivated, able to manage multiple tasks, manage time-sensitive projects and contribute effectively to outreach and engagement.
Project Summary The goals of the project are to 1) train primary care providers, specialty care providers, and allied health care providers to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental disorders, particularly serious mental illness (SMI) and/or serious emotional disturbances (SED) and employ crisis de-escalation techniques; 2) establish linkages with community-based mental health agencies to refer individuals and provide education on supportive community resources; 3) educate medical care professionals on the necessity and benefits of self-care in promoting wellness to their patients.
Allied health professionals include the therapists, scientists, technologists, administrators, managers, and assistants who comprise the backbone of our healthcare workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities Program Operations:
Assist the project manager in fulfilling the requirements of the grant.
Manage the engagement, onboarding, training, and follow-up of medical providers who are employers of allied health care providers.
Develop and implement ongoing program information and orientation sessions for health care providers.
Develop training calendar and project schedules and manage training and events calendar.
Deliver training in Mental Health First Aid, Youth and Adults versions.
Deliver training in Wellness Recovery Action Planning and Emotional CPR.
Create and update a resource directory for use by partnering medical providers.
Source and secure spaces for in-person training as needed.
Maintain individual medical provider participation progress files, including data collection for reporting.
Manage and report on the referral tracking protocols.
Respond to requests from the community to join the program.
Outreach and Engagement:
Seek appropriate avenues to promote the training calendar and project schedules.
Engage participants through outreach to medical associations, health care training programs, physician offices, etc.
Engage community-based behavioral health agencies in partnering as providers of services to the referred individuals.
Coordinate outreach and manage the development of outreach materials such as flyers, brochures, and event promotional items with the Marketing and Media Coordinator.
In coordination with the Marketing and Media Coordinator, leverage behavioral data, market research, and business analysis to implement effective online outreach strategies to reach goals and increase engagement and redirect and change ongoing campaigns based on performance metrics Maintain provider and participant database and create and deploy regular updates and other communication.
Provide technical assistance to health care providers on training offered, participation in the program, and reporting of program data.
The list of responsibilities may not be all-inclusive and can be expanded or contracted as needed to fulfill the requirements of the grant.
Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of 1 year of program coordination experience (Preferred) Mental Health First Aid Adult and Youth facilitator (Highly Desired) Wellness Recovery Action Plan and Emotional CPR facilitator (Desired and on-the-job training will be offered) A college degree or some collegiate-level education (Preferred) Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, email marketing platforms Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience conducting outreach and engaging in collaboration Must be willing to take on new challenges and responsibilities to help the team and the organization become more efficient and be available to support the team Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision Cultural and linguistic competence and sensitivity to the population served Please be sure to highlight any experience with nonprofit organizations and/or our served populations Travel:
Moderate travel is required.
Must have access to a personal vehicle and provide proof of valid auto insurance and driver's license.
